Because everyone deserves to Play

The Duchenne Foundation was set up to fund research into Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) -
the number one genetic killer of boys worldwide.

A devastating illness, DMD is typically diagnosed in boys between the ages of 2 and 5.
With an intensifying weakness of muscles, our boys generally lose their ability to walk between the ages of 8 and 12, progressing to the heart and lung muscles by their early 20's. Duchenne muscular dystrophy has a 100% fatality rate. But with research, a cure is very feasible within our lifetime.

The Blue Ball, with the child's hand, is a symbol of our very simple dream -
that children with Duchenne's will grow up to play.
